Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

The Sunday School continues to flourish in faith and fellowship as our children settle into the new curriculum designed by John Cook in collaboration with the Bible Society. Structured by age groups, the syllabus emphasizes spiritual development, character building, and life skills, laying a strong foundation for their journey with Christ.

Our worship sessions have been especially vibrant under the leadership of Mrs Suja D Shanthi and with the support of the Youth Fellowship. Through songs, object lessons, and interactive games, worship has become a joyful and meaningful experience for the children.

We are also thankful for the many who serve diligently behind the scenes:

  1. Dr Vinaya is now representing Sunday School on social media, sharing regular updates and testimonies.

  2. Mrs Sharan is overseeing inventory and the newly upgraded sound system, which was kindly provided by the church. A special word of thanks to Dr Roger Ephraim, Mr Immanuel, Mr Joshua, and Mr Cephas for their timely help in making this installation possible.

  3. Mr Jason and Ms Lincy, BD students from United Theological College, continue to enrich worship services and now also participate in general and class sessions.

Beyond our own walls, our Sunday School has been joyfully active:

  1. Ahavah: Inter-Church Sunday School Competition: On August 9th, St John’s Church hosted events such as Walk the Bible, Solve the Puzzle, Imitators of Christ, Spell-Bee, Tale-a-Vision, and a Quiz. Our children participated with much cheer and enthusiasm.

  2. Chess Competition: One of our talented teachers, Mr Sajulin, represented us at Hudson Memorial Church, which celebrated its 121st anniversary.

  3. Intersun 2025: The Junior Bible Fellowship of the Carey Society, United Theological College, organized their much-awaited annual inter-church Sunday School competition with the theme LEGO – “Let’s Go: Journeying with Christ” (John 11:16). Our children took part in Storytelling, Solo Singing (Primary, Junior, Senior), Memory Verse, and Elocution. We thank the parents for their encouragement and support, and we urge everyone to continue praying that our children may use their gifts for God’s glory.

  4. Looking ahead:

  5. The Harvest Festival preparations are underway! The children are joyfully making crafts and tickets to sell, learning stewardship and the joy of giving their talents, time, and energy for the Lord.

  6. On the third Sunday of September, our Sunday School teachers will assist in leading the worship service in honor of Teacher’s Day, celebrated earlier this month.

  7. We are also grateful to the church for providing songbooks that will help our children learn and cherish the timeless hymns and choruses of the faith.

As we reflect on these many blessings and opportunities, we give thanks to God for guiding our Sunday School ministry, and we pray that every effort continues to nurture the faith, fellowship, and gifts of our children.
